Stuart Smith is to depart Hill & Knowlton to become global corporate practice director at Ogilvy PR.

Smith departs Hill & Knowlton after three years, most recently as head of the EMEA corporate practice. Prior to joining Hill & Knowlton, he was Edelman UK CEO.

Smith begins his new role on February 1 and will initially remain based in London, reporting to Ogilvy PR global CEO Chris Graves.

“Our corporate practice is experiencing considerable momentum in the marketplace and I am confident he will contribute to our ambitious plans for growth globally,” said Graves in a statement. “He has the talent, creativity, reputation, international experience and leadership skills to be a valued colleague and a great asset to our clients.”

Hill & Knowlton EMEA chairman Sally Costerton told the Holmes Report that the agency would respond to Smith’s loss by “adding to our senior corporate team in EMEA.”
