Boeing has called in new agency support in India as its eyes ambitious growth plans in the country.

Corporate Voice Weber Shandwick wins the account, estimated in the six-figure range, following a pitch that included as many as 10 agencies, including incumbent Genesis Burson-Marsteller. It is understood that the final choice came down to Corvo Shandwick and Genesis B-M, which has held the account since 2006.
Boeing India director of communications Swati Rangachari told the Holmes Report that the new agency will look to develop the company’s positioning across its commercial aviation and aerospace defence markets.

“If you look at the commercial aviation market in India, our outlook for the next 20 years is signficant,” said Rangachari. “And India has one of the biggest aerospace defence markets in the world. So our mandate is pretty huge.”

“It’s more about finding a team that is mature, understands the nuances culturally and can work in the Boeing environment,” added Rangachari.
